... A man was standing near the balcony, one so frighteningly familiar and yet so completely different that it took his breath away. He fumbled with the clasps of his mantle, but his hands dropped as soon as he heard a rustling noise. It was followed by the sound of naked feet hitting the marble floor, an erratic pitter patter noise that was coming towards the stately man. With a guttural moan he turned around and opened his arms. A brown skinned, green eyed blur flew past their vantage point and into the waiting man's arms. After a moment their lips met and the force of it was so shocking it nearly rocked the man who watched them off his feet.
He turned his disbelieving eyes to the entity standing next to him, only to find that those strange bi-coloured eyes had been watching him instead of the two lovers on the balcony. Unbidden, tears welled in his eyes.
"What? How?" Claude Frollo croaked.
